Getting started
Do I have to pay to try Tuck?
No. Three classics โ Goodnight, Little Fox, Cinderella, and The Tortoise and the Hare โ are read aloud by Ellie, our bedtime narrator, free every night, with no recording and no purchase. Replay them as often as your child asks.
How do I add my own voice?
- Open Tuck and choose Add your voice.
- Read the short passage aloud, once, somewhere quiet. It takes about 30 seconds.
- Start your free trial. Tuck then builds your voice โ usually about a minute.
- Pick any story and press play. It will be read in your voice.
Record in a quiet room, hold the phone a hand's width away, and read at your normal bedtime pace. A calm, unhurried sample makes a much better voice than a loud, fast one.
Whose voice may I record?
Your own, or another adult's who has agreed to it. Please don't record someone without their permission, and please don't record a child.
Plans and billing
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Tuck Plus โ yearly | $39.99 / year (about $3.33 a month) | Every story in the app read aloud in your voice, a brand-new personalised story whenever you want one, and up to three voices for the family โ one during the trial, three once the trial converts. Includes up to 120 minutes of newly narrated audio each month; replays never count against it. |
| Tuck Plus โ monthly | $6.99 / month | |
| Keepsake | One-time purchase | Three voices and twenty bedtime stories, yours forever. Not a subscription โ nothing renews. |
Prices shown are for the United States storefront. In other countries the App Store and Google Play show the equivalent local price, which is what you'll be charged.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
Every Tuck Plus plan starts with 7 days free. You record your voice and hear it read a story before anything is charged. If you do nothing, the subscription renews automatically at the price above when the 7 days end. Cancel any time before then and you are not charged. Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us.
How do I cancel, or change plan?
Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought from, so cancelling is done there โ not in Tuck. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- iPhone or iPad: Settings โ tap your name at the top โ Subscriptions โ Tuck โ Cancel Subscription. Or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- Android: Play Store โ your profile icon โ Payments & subscriptions โ Subscriptions โ Tuck โ Cancel. Or open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep Tuck Plus until the period you already paid for runs out.
I paid, but Tuck says I'm locked
Open the paywall and tap Restore purchase. That re-reads your purchase from Apple or Google and unlocks the app. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account or Google account you bought with. If it still doesn't unlock, email us โ include the store you bought from and roughly when, and we'll fix it from our side.
A payment failed and I've lost access
Update your payment method in the store (the links above), and access returns as soon as the charge goes through. Nothing is lost in the meantime โ your voices and stories are still there.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by the store, not by us. For Apple, use reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, use your Play order history. If something went wrong on our end, tell us and we'll back you up.
Voices and stories
My voice doesn't sound right
Delete the voice in Voice Library and record again somewhere quieter, without background music or a television. Room echo and a rushed read are the two usual culprits.
Building the voice is taking a long time
It normally finishes in about a minute. If it has been much longer, close and reopen Tuck โ the voice usually finishes in the background. If it still hasn't, email us.
How many voices can I have?
One during the free trial, and three once Tuck Plus converts, so a second parent or a grandparent can be in there too. Keepsake includes three.
Can I use Tuck offline?
A story that has already been narrated is cached and replays without a connection. Recording a voice, and narrating a story for the first time, both need the internet.
Privacy and deleting your data
How do I delete my voice?
Open Voice Library, choose the voice, and delete it. That deletes the cloned voice at our provider, your original recording, every story narrated in that voice, and its records in our database.
How do I delete everything?
Delete your voices as above, then remove the app โ that clears your child's name and age and everything else held on the device. To erase your account and everything attached to it, email tuck@pgintel.dev and ask. We'll do it and confirm.
What do you do with my voice?
It narrates stories inside your copy of Tuck. Nothing else. It isn't shared with other users and it isn't sold. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Still stuck?
Email tuck@pgintel.dev with your device, your iOS or Android version, and what you saw. Screenshots help enormously. We answer within two business days.
